Over on the western side of Serbia is Zlatibor, a mountain region that forms part of the Dinaric Alps. Its name translates as ‘Golden Pine’ in homage to the many pine trees that scatter the landscape. Its highest peak is Tornik, a year round favourite with tourists. In winter, Tornik can host around 5,400 skiers per hour, via its six-seater chairlift and two T-bar lists. It also has an artificial snowing system, a tubing installation that is open year round, and a children’s playground and carousel.
