How many of you going/sharing riz?
Mine was quite a bit more than that but we're staying in the Grand. Trust me, we'd never go SC. I don't think I could bear to have toast all week ;)
We were going to stay at the Grand but we have a single person coming with us and when we booked there were no single rooms available and they wanted to charge the full amount for a second person to be in that room as the supplement.
The Club A looks ok though. Most reports ive read says it ok, just a little dated!
Do you know that at those prices, you guys seems to be paying LESS for the hotels than us locals !? It even seems that your ski-pass is cheaper, and I am talking in absolute, nominal terms - not even taking into account the average income. So do us a favour, stop complaining and enjoy the snow (and :dziveli:). :sm021:
lol. my lift pass cost me £55
Hello!
I went to Kop in February last year. It was my first time snowboarding and I loved it! So we are going again on 4th Feb, really excited about snowboarding again :)
Last year we stayed at Aparthotel Konaci and we were half board, and I must say that the half board food wasn't to my taste at all (or the rest of our group). So this year we are going self catering.
my views the same went half board last year and the food wasnt great, there are 4 of us going...
with regards to eating toast all week i can live on that as im taking me tub of marmite along with me the other plus is at least i can have toast when ever i want lol
every ones got the own views
Most people seem to complain about Eastern European food. You pick a skiing holiday (esp a 'cheaper' one) for skiing, not cuisine!
I was in Bulgaria last year, the food is different, but was all edible. And if we wanted a night out to eat in a restaurant, it wasn't too expensive.
What sort of food should we be expecting in (a) the hotels and (b) in the restuarents and cafes on the mountain and in the resort?
Any tips?
there was nothing wrong with the food only the fact that there wasnt much of it lol
Official metheorological web site for Serbia is :
http://www.hidmet.sr.gov.yu/eng/osmotreni/index.php
They give quite up-to date snow cover data. There is 30cm of snow today (03-01-2007). The web site is in English.
Cheers
(I am going with my son on February 12 ...went last January and had a great time)
o and is any 1 having trouble with the web cam
The live webcam isn't loading for me, it was fine yesterday.
This is for six days.
This is the price that we have to pay through our tour operator. (Crystal)
Im guessing as they promise they will bring "x" amount of customers they get (and then us as cutomers) a discounted rate.
Also, for anyone who pre books thier equipment and ski school, they get their lift pass for nothing.
I hope we havent annoyed anyone!
:sm006:
I've just checked my invoice and we've paid £58 for the lift pass. (Not £55)
Not sure about the hotels, it's been a while since I've been there, but I think that breakfast is the same all over the world... not adequate! (never went to really high class hotel, though)
But in the restaurants up there it should be ok, for you guys it shouldn't be too expensive, and there's plenty to choose if you're not a vegetarian, 'couse we generaly eat a lot of meat in Serbia, so I think there are several barbecue places up there, small, fast-food like, that you should try. Most of them are located in Konaci circle, there's pretty much everything you'll need...
weee 36 cm :D Kop looks really cute today! Hopefully should have a bit more over the next few days from looking at the forecast. I just want it to stay this time!
any one have any idear how many runs and lifts are open ???
thanks
everyday the models change however I do like what Alan Reppert has to say about the coming month:
"The Adriatic region will see more in the way of above normal rain/snowfall, but still nothing too far above normal. Temperatures will be much closer to normal, especially over northern Italy, but I do see it still being a bit above normal, closer to 1-3 degrees F."
However he then goes on to say:
"Southeastern Europe will likely see some more in the way of above normal rainfall, and I think it will be turning more on the mild side for the area. Normal rainfall should be more widespread for the region, though snowfall may be a bit harder to find with the much colder air well off to the north. "
Hopefully by the north he means Serbia, but even an above average rainfall should be fantastic news for kop as at its altitude it should hopefully fall as snow.
Yeah!!! Tickets have just arrived!!!
didu gt the nice little cheque book thing with all the stuff in it
Anyone know what the snow is normally like at the end of February? or a link to where I can find out?
web cam is back up
lol dont worry ill put up some vids on you tube when i get back so u can see what its like and ill find out any thing u want to know
Suggestion here lads - can we start a NEW thread as this one is way off topic
As great as the live webcam is, could it be moved to an area where we can see either the main square, or the slopes?

Deatailed here..... http://www.eng.infokop.net/index.php...d=25&Itemid=62
the freezing levels going to be above 2000m by the end of the week :sm008:
yeah not great to hear :( Really need another large drop in snow just before I go out. I sleep with my fingers crossed in the hope it snows overnight ha ha
lol I've worked out a prayer in hebrew.. which i say 3 times a day.. if there was an embarrassed smiley I'd use it ;)
The GFS is predicting a storm over Spain in a few days time, my worst fear is that this could push loads of warm air over kopaonik preventing any decent snowfall before our holiday... If I watch that snow melt away to nothing AGAIN it would be the end of me.
I'm starting to develop a love/hate relationship for mount kop ;)
looking at the weather report for next week it looks like the snow might melt out from under us. hopefully we can get a couple of days skiing first though. why is it so warm? it's january....
I guess you'll have skiable conditions for your entire holiday... I can't say I'm not jealous.
